"Winter’s Welcome" (2019)
Keith Tippett’s suite “Winter’s Welcome” was commissioned by Hilary Jeffery for Zinc & Copper. The suite combines Tippett’s characteristic dynamic interplay of deeply felt themes and dramatic harmonies interwoven with fiery rhythms and group improvisation, inspired modern jazz music for turbulent times.
Sadly the project was never fully realised although the music was presented once on 17 February 2019 by Jazzkeller 69 in Berlin Schöneweide.
The project was made possible with the support of Musikfonds e.V, Berlin Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa and Jazzkeller 69 e.V.
